How Fintua Came to Be
Fintua grew out of a simple observation: many people in Melaka wanted to manage their money more clearly but found the tools confusing. Not because the tools are complicated — but because most learning resources jump straight to advanced features without building the basics first.
We started running small sessions in 2021, focused on one thing at a time: how to set up a clean budget sheet, how to write a formula that does what you expect, how to organise your records so you can find things later. The feedback was consistent — people wanted more of that grounded, practical approach.
Fintua now offers three structured options, from a single starter session to a complete multi-session programme. The approach stays the same across all of them: you build something real, you understand what it does, and you leave with files you can use that same day.

What We Are Here For
Our mission is straightforward: help people in Malaysia build the spreadsheet habits that make everyday money tasks less confusing and less time-consuming. Not complex financial models — just clean, reliable tools for tracking, budgeting and organising.
We keep sessions small, explanations plain and materials practical. The content is framed strictly as general skills education — we are not financial advisers, and we do not pretend to be. What we do well is show people how to use spreadsheet tools confidently.

Who Runs the Sessions
A small team with a shared interest in making spreadsheet skills accessible to more people in Malaysia.
Hairul Zamri
Lead Trainer
Runs the core sessions and developed the plain-words formula approach. Has been teaching spreadsheet skills in Melaka since 2019.
Nor Faizah
Course Designer
Builds the template files and designs the session structure. Focused on making sure every course produces something immediately usable.
Ahmad Razif
Support Trainer
Assists with group practice sessions and the ongoing support element of the Complete Programme. Handles individual questions during group sessions.

Structured Curriculum
Each course follows a clear session plan so participants know what they will cover and in what order — no improvised detours.
Hands-On Practice
Participants work on real spreadsheet files throughout every session — not just examples that the trainer builds while the group watches.
Small Group Sizes
We cap sessions at ten participants so there is enough time to address individual questions without rushing through the material.
Privacy Respected
Participant details are held securely and not shared with third parties outside of what is needed to run the sessions.

Our Approach
Spreadsheet Training Grounded in What People Actually Need
At Fintua, the focus stays on spreadsheet building as a practical skill. The people who come to our sessions are not aspiring accountants or analysts — they are individuals who want to understand where their money goes, track a household budget or keep their personal records organised without relying on expensive software or outsourcing the task to someone else.
The tools we teach are standard — Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets — because that is what participants already have access to. What we add is the structured approach: building from a blank sheet, naming things clearly, using formulas that are explained in words before they are typed in, and finishing each session with something that works.
Our training space in Taman Melaka Raya is set up for small groups with individual workstations. Sessions are conducted in English and can accommodate varying levels of prior spreadsheet experience within the same group, as long as participants are broadly at the beginner or early-intermediate stage.
